Making Cake Boss Flower Cookies + Cake Boss Bakeware Giveaway (3 winners)

I’ve never seen one episode of Cake Boss before. Sorry, Buddy Valastro. (I had to google to see what his name was. Twice. By the time I started typing it, I had forgotten how to spell it already.)

The Cake Boss hates me now, I’m sure of it.

Oh wellsies, it’s not like we were thisclose to Buddy hearts Liz status anyhow…but we could be one day, because Liz sure hearts the Cake Boss bakeware that made me these cookies!

I was sent a Flower Molded Cookie Pan from the bakeware line and even though I’ve never used a molded cookie pan like this, I was excited to try it. I almost picked out a standard cookie sheet with silicone grips (and I’ll probably just buy a couple of those), but I decided to go outside the box and get a piece of novelty bakeware for the review.

You don’t need to use nonstick cooking spray (and shouldn’t), so all you have to do is to take a ball of dough, roll into a log shape and wrap the dough inside the molds. I was nervous about the whole thing, so I totally cheated and used refrigerated cookie dough.

Once they were done baking, I let them sit in the pan for about 10 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack. They slid right out and they looked as cute as cute could be.

They reminded me of some flower-shaped cookies that I used to put on every single finger before eating them, except those had holes in the center. And were flat. And butter-flavored. And from the store. So basically nothing at all alike.

Just never mind.

When they were completely cool, I made a cheater’s move part two and used frosting from the tub to decorate them. I divided it into three parts and used food coloring to make some pretty Autumn colors. Then I just piped around the cookie layers and goofed around.
