A few weeks ago I posted about my plans for a glamping trip to Asheville NC. Well, I just got back from that trip, and boy, were those Blue Ridge Mountains beautiful. I live in coastal North Carolina and visit Raleigh often, and the mountains have such a different, more relaxed vibe than the rest of the state. Lovely, lovely.
On the way there, we heard Take It Easy by the Eagles a ton of times on the radio, which epitomizes the way I felt when I was on this trip…I *tried* not to let the sound of my own wheels drive me crazy but tbh my “wheels” are really loud. I did my best.
So! Here’s a rundown of our glorious fall glamping trip to Asheville, NC.
When we arrived in the Asheville area, we thought we’d get a hike in so we could stretch our legs after having been in the car for a few hours. We decided to stop at Chimney Rock State Park, where there are a few trails to choose from. There was a cave called Gneiss Cave (pronounced “nice” – I made a lot of jokes about this) on the way to the first trail, so of course we had to check it out.
I snapped this extraterrestrial pic from the bottom of the cave.
The first trail we took was an easy hike that brought us to this awesome waterfall! These photos do not do it justice at all.
The second trail we took wasn’t really a trail at all. It was actually about a million stairs, but thankfully the vista of Lake Lure from the top was stunning!
After a long hike back down the stairs and a stop for something to eat, we arrived at our eco-friendly bungalow in Hendersonville (about 30 minutes from Asheville) that GlampingHub.com helped us book.
Once we were done oohing and ahhing over the adorable, cozy bungalow, we decided to get a fire started. We brought a hatchet and small saw with us to split the provided firewood into smaller pieces so we could cut stuff up.
We’d brought s’mores supplies, rum, and apple cider to go with our fire. ‘Nuff said.
The following day, it was time for the biggest adventure we planned for this trip: horseback riding, which we booked through Saddle Up Trail Rides. It was a two hour ride up and down the hilly trails in Pisgah National Forest.
Our horses were both gassy and unamused, stopping to poop multiple times each, and farting freely during the ride. Despite the bowel activity, it was a really fun way to see the forest!
After the ride we got cleaned up and headed into downtown Asheville for dinner and drinks. We started with some small plates at Chai Pani, an Indian street food restaurant. We had samosa, tomato and cheese uttapam, and the showstopper of the night: Bombay Chili Cheese fries (with spiced lamb, paneer, onion, and cilantro). O.M.G.
There are so many breweries in town, of course we had to try one! We headed to Asheville Brewing Company for a flight.
The next morning, we got up early, checked out of our bungalow, and headed back to Asheville for breakfast at the infamous Tupelo Honey and some shopping. I bought some spices and incense!
Based on my experience with GlampingHub.com for this trip, I highly recommend both booking a place to stay through GlampingHub. It’s easy to browse the site to find exactly what you’re looking for, and if all of the glamping hosts are anything like ours, Grace, you’re sure to have a wonderful experience wherever you choose to go glamping.
If you’re interested in booking the same sweet little cabin I stayed in, you can find the listing here!

Sounds like an awesome trip. Really great pictures. I always like the idea of glamping and wanted to try it, easing myself into real camping lol. You just reminded me off that.
Wow, had no idea there was a website to help with setting up your glamping accommodations. Thanks for the info!

Glamping sounds like my style! My husband always wants to go camping and while I love the idea of getting away with less technology, I don’t relish the thought of sleeping on the ground! Or even an air mattress that goes flat.

This looks like the perfect place to get away and unwind and just reconnect back to nature.
Love the waterfall pictures too bad it wasn’t warmer you could of “rinsed” off there!
Why did they have a “rinse off station” by the hot tub anyways? I have a hot tub and that confuses the daylights out of me…
Chanelle says
It was great! I don’t really know about the rinsing station though – maybe to rinse the chlorine off afterward?
